What we do

Are you a candidate for MCCJC?

A mother’s tears of despair; the empty look in a teenager’s eyes when they believe nobody cares; when the court-ordered punishment is over for a bad decision, but the condemning actions from society continue; when one person has no idea what will work is often when MCCJC will meet a potential candidate. “At the end of their rope” of hope is when a “faith-based” program can be most effective and productive
Yes, you can still earn your G.E.D. at age 46.Yes, you can learn to “temper” through our class on anger management. Yes, you can understand what positive attributes you bring to the workforce through “Jobs for Life” training.

From High School GED recipients to scholarly college students, the men & women of MCCJC begin to blossom as they become more confident. A MCCJC participant will have a placement rate after one year of participation of 80%, while the national placement rate of similar programs is 20%.
Volunteers oversee the program. The Board of Trustees, Executive Director, Site Coordinators, instructors, mentors, and office staff are all volunteers.

While it is not a requirement that you become a Christian to participate in MCCJC, we are a faith- based organization, and are proud of the number of participants that no longer depend on welfare assistance for day-to-day survival. Each participant in MCCJC becomes a future generation of independent and productive citizens. In addition, many of our participants do become Christians.

Metro Columbus Christian Corps does not offer a hand out, but a hand up. Each person entering the program makes a commitment to MCCJC, to herself/himself, and to his or her mentor(s). The Mentor “walks” with the participant for six months to two years, providing assistance with life’s challenges.
